Google Adds 'Selfie-Style Videos' From Celebs to Search Results

The Spider web giant has enlisted a dozen celebrities to respond commonly asked questions nearly themselves via "selfie-style videos" that will appear in search results.

Google is piloting this feature on mobile Search in the US with answers from Chopra, Ross, Ferrell, Gina Rodriguez, Kenan Thompson, Allison Williams, Nick Jonas, Mark Wahlberg, James Franco, Seth MacFarlane, Jonathan Yeo, and Dominique Ansel.

"Whether you're wondering what Gina Rodriguez's pet peeve is, what movie changed Nick Jonas' life, or want Kenan Thompson's input on what makes something funny, these self-recorded videos share their perspectives and answers to some of your most-asked questions," Product Managing director Rami Banna explained in a blog post.

Google is planning to expand this feature "in the next few months" to offer these selfie-style videos from even more famous people.

Google likewise recently added a "Donate" button to Search that lets you easily give money to charity. You'll see this new selection when y'all search for specific nonprofits, such as the medical charity Direct Relief.

Plus, over the summer, Google added a feature that lets yous bank check if you're clinically depressed correct from Search. When you search for "clinical depression" on Google from your mobile device, you'll now see a Knowledge Console that offers the option to "bank check if y'all're clinically depressed."
